Lovely old pub
Lovely old pub . Booked a room for one night . Lovely welcome from the host . Nice spacious room and clean . Minor criticism was lots of staining around bath and basin . Basic Accommodation
I stayed here recently for one night. Check in was nice and friendly and a good sized car park at the front. The room was very basic. Although clean it was pretty dated and looked as though it could do with a bit of an upgrade. Bathroom was pretty cramped also. It was ok for a one night stay but probably wouldn’t visit again. Excellent choice for the airport
Small hotel with good value for money 15 minutes (by car) from Stansted airport. Simple but spacious room, and there is everything you need. On the ground floor there is a nice pub and restaurant where you eat well. Decent breakfast, free parking.

Comfortable stay
I would just like to say a big thank you to the staff, I left my iPad in my room, They kept it safe for me and I picked it up after I returned off my holiday. Room was nice and clean. Fabulous Stay, Happily Recommend!
We were visiting family nearby & chose the Cock Inn for a change from chain hotels. I'm so glad we did. We were given a warm, friendly welcome with all staff looking genuinely happy to be there. The room was very clean & even had a lovely a big built in wardrobe with plenty of space for suitcases as well as clothes. Considering our stay was on a Thurs & Fri night, I was pleasantly surprised that we couldn't hear any noise coming from the very busy bar area. With a nice comfy bed to sleep in too we enjoyed 2 peaceful nights sleep there. Another bonus is having a good old fashioned key to your room rather than the usual swipe cards which don't always work anyway! The pub is very charming & cosy, it was so nice to have somewhere other than the just the room to sit in. Lovely relaxing atmosphere & a lovely 'secret' garden beyond the patio area. Food-wise, we only needed breakfast there. The full English was well presented & delicious! Fantastic little location

They serve Murphy’s stout and brilliant experience overall
The pub is situated in a lovely little village called sheering so close to the M11 junction 7A so access is really good. The atmosphere was good not many people in there as this was Monday afternoon but was surprised by how many people was in there for a Monday lunchtime. For me that made it they serve Murphy’s stout so much better than Guinness and much cheaper, the price of drinks and the food was very good we had a ploughman and that came out on like a chopping board serving was plentiful, my wife had a ploughman with a scotch egg and that was cooked jus before it was served so the yolk came poring out when she cut it open. Excellent stay and meal at The Cock Inn
We were staying here to see family and go into London. A lovely old characterful pub in good location. Room was large and located well away from the pub area so was very quiet, no noise at all from the pub, which was very busy on the Saturday night we arrived. Room and bathroom all very clean, lovely hot shower. Extra pillows in the wardrobe. A lovely atmosphere in the pub, old beams and very friendly barman. We had supper of fish and chips which was delicious with generous portions. Very friendly waitresses too. We needed to leave early next morning and they turned round a full English breakfast - which was lovely- really quickly to accommodate that. All the breakfast staff were super warm and friendly too . It’s a very friendly, warm and welcoming place to stay. We would definitely stay here again.
