The Cock Inn Sheering – Eat – Drink – Stay

The Cock Inn has been owned by the Bedford Family since 1999 and they welcome you to their 17th century pub with accommodation set in the historical village of Sheering which is mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086. Extract translated below:

Peter de Valognes owned SHEERING and all things that were situated and produced in Sheering being 1 x Mill – 8 x Cows – 100 x Calves – 1 x Horse – 35 x Sheep – 56 x Pigs – 1 x Mule – 1 x Ass – 3 x Beehives. In all worth 100 shillings (£5).

The Cock Inn hotel is less than 1 mile from the M11 and 1.5 miles from Sawbridgeworth station which is just a 40 minute train journey to London and to Cambridge.

Several beautiful Wedding venues are situated in other nearby villages, making staying here ideal.
